Lora Hodges is a professional voice teacher and life-long musician. She teaches from her studio – True Voice Studio – in Farmington, New Mexico, where she and her husband also own a music store and sound production company. Lora was born in Florida into a musical family and began singing at a very young age. As a child she learned piano, guitar, and was exposed to classical and choral music.
As a singer, songwriter, and musician, she and her husband write, record, and perform their original music. They’ve opened in their region for numerous artists, including Mercy Me, The Afters, Tracey Lawrence, Rodney Atkins, Rick Trevino, and JoDee Messina. In addition to a background as music director from for a regional women’s ministry based in southwestern Colorado, an outreach to the Four Corners area (UT, CO, NM, AZ), she has served at different intervals in positions as worship leader, piano/keyboard player, and vocalist for nearly 3 decades.
Lora studied and trained with Brett Manning’s Singing Success method for several years before auditioning with Brett, then being selected to train as one of his certified coaches. She received her certification in 2010 as a Brett Manning Associate (BMA) International Coach and is currently the only Certified BMA Vocal Coach in the Southwest United States. She utilizes his renowned teaching method with her students.
Lora is a devoted musician and vocal coach who believes “There is nothing so fulfilling as doing what you love and being able to teach the skills to others to help them grow. I have the privilege of seeing my clients not only develop and improve in their singing, but to watch their self-confidence grow and see them blossom as individuals. Helping others to believe that they are valuable and realize their self-worth and potential is an important part of the big picture.”
